" Integration of New Technologies acquired through the European Program into learning process "
November 2018
In the framework of the implementation of the European Program, the Sector of Vocational Education and Training, ERASMUS+ 2017, code 2017-1-DE03-KA219-035679 and entitled "Integration of New Technologies into Classroom", the Pedagogical Team of the Program of the 1st EPAL of Karditsa, organized an event at the school venue where the students presented their projects based on the new digital tools learnt through the European Program. All the projects had an interdisciplinary approach. The students worked on their themes by using knowledge they gained from the European Program, from the lessons taught at our school, through their own research and using the internet as a source of information, so that learning can be experiential.
The European Program has once again succeeded in mobilizing students to engage them in their own learning and school activities. It was a great pleasure for the students who participated in the European Program to share with their classmates and their teachers the new knowledge they have acquired. After completing the presentations, the students of the project team "played" together with their classmates two online quizzes whose questions were relevant to the presentations of their projects. Quizzes were created by the students of the project team using an online tool which they learned through the European Program. The students were divided into groups. They used their mobile phones to answer the quiz questions in real time. That activity involved students in a gaming-learning environment. The students were excited about the new tools, stayed interested and actively participated in the learning process and this highlights the fact that integration of new technologies can promote the learning outcomes.

"The Project Corner"
In the context of dissemination and information, the project team of the new European Program Erasmus+, that our school implements, called “Integration of new Technologies into classroom”, have formed the project corner, in the central hallway of the school.
The triple theme of the project corner is Europe-Education-Technology. Inspired by the myth of Europe, in a modern setting, a student’s painting, presents Europe sitting on the bull and holding a tablet in her hand. There is also a digital painting by another student, presenting the multicultural, interactive, digitally connected Europe. On the European map, you can spot all the countries that participate in the project by their flags. Pictures have already been hung up, coming from the first working meeting in Bensheim of Germany, on November 2017.
The project corner is under constant configuration, will be improved and enriched with material, coming from new activities and project meetings in future.

PRESS RELEASE
In the framework of the implementation of a European Program, teachers of the 1st EPAL of Karditsa visited Bensheim, Germany. In particular, the director Mr Sokratis Pappas and the teachers Ioanna Koutouva and Maria Malliora, participated in the activities of the 1st meeting concerning the implementation of the Vocational Education and Training Program, ERASMUS+ 2017, with a code number 2017-1-DE03-KA219-035679, and title «Integration of New Technologies into Classroom». The participating countries are: Germany, Italy, Estonia, Turkey and Greece.
The project was created to meet two basic needs identified in the schools involved. The need to boost the motivation of pupils and consequently the test results of their schools, and the need to promote an intercultural dialogue among people, from different countries and different contexts, in a European frame that is facing great challenges today.
Therefore, the purpose of this project consists of two apparently different directions. On the one hand, we want students to become more involved in their own learning, using computers in their study, thus improving their results and performance. On the other hand, we want to experience what it means to be a European citizen and to expose them to different ways of thinking, values and beliefs.
Using ICT applications is a pretext and a framework for these students to come together and collaborate, because until now the computer appears to be the only common language they speak, regardless of their environment. So working on the computer will be a catalyst for different categories of people who will be part of an intelligent school network.
The 1st EPAL of Karditsa, with initiative and determination, has implemented in the past, is implementing now and will continue to be directed to such actions, the aim of which is to upgrade the quality of the education provided to our students, as well as to exploit opportunities so that teachers of our school can acquire even more knowledge and experience that will serve them both in their work in school and in their personal lives through innovative actions and innovative projects.
